The Sony XZ2 equipped with Sony New entertainment capabilities with the addition of Sony’s new ‘Dynamic Vibration System’. Basically, it is a version of the haptic engine with you can feel a slightly vibrating shock which we find inside a DualShock 4 PS4 controller. As this function is used for various purposes such as, when you receive a notification, or when you playing games and watching Movies.
However, you find this feature for a very limited number of apps but it does help you to make compatible games feel more immersive. The issue with audio jack is Sony has cut the 3.5mm port from the phone, we consider at this point that wired headphones are gone in future smartphones.
In the flagship smartphones, companies have jumped to QHD and FHD+ screen’s resolution is something worth mentioning enough, for the better viewing quality. The Icons and text look sharp and most of the peoples really don’t know the difference between the lower number of pixels.
The out-of-the-box colours look realistic and vibrant in Sony XZ2 with Quad HD Display. Whites are pretty Whites and Black are Deep Black, but they look reddish when you look at the phone from side angles. As with all IPS displays, the black colours are not as deep as on the AMOLED screen, but they are enough for everyday use. As for the display, the maximum brightness is very good as compare to others.
There are lots of screen customization features that Sony offers in XZ2. In the Settings menu, there is RGB slider which helps you to you tweak the whites using white-balance option. There are default three colours profiles as found in Samsung Phones with you can choose your choice of colour profile. As on the box it’s using Sony’s Standard profile, with Sony’s special Triluminos gamut. There is also a Professional mode that tweaks the more common sRGB gamut. At last, there is a Super Vivid option, which increases the settings to hugely oversaturate colours.
