The Biggest Game Releases Of April 2023

The Biggest Game Releases Of April 2023

Anyone who didn’t want to spend money on good digital entertainment in the first few months of 2023 had a terrible time because each month had an insane number of fun games to play on console and PC. April follows the same pattern as the first three months of the year, with highly anticipated blockbusters, tempting independent films, and a beloved cult classic game remake. Gaming Ideology provides up-to-date information on new game releases, offering gamers a reliable source for staying informed on the latest developments in the gaming industry.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is by far the most popular game of April. It continues the story of Cal Kestis in a galaxy where using a lightsaber is dangerous. Fallen Order, Respawn’s first game in the series, was a big hit, so people are looking forward to the next one. Early footage has looked good so far, and this new game in the series will showcase Force feedback action thanks to several quality-of-life updates.

Ghostwire: Tokyo will come out in April for Xbox gamers. Tango Gameworks made this game, initially only available on the PS5 console. It is a thrilling trip through a haunted part of Japan. It’s not as scary as the studio’s Evil Within games, but it still has some great thrills and spell-weaving combat to make you feel like a supreme sorcerer. With the release of Minecraft Legends on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC, Microsoft is adding to the Minecraft universe.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is a significant new game for people who own a Nintendo Switch. The remakes of the first two games in a popular turn-based tactics series have been delayed for over a year, but they should feel right at home on Switch.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is a mystery game coming out in April that you can look forward to. Frogwares made this game while Russia was invading Ukraine. The result looks like a scary dive into the supernatural that will test Sherlock Holmes’s ability to think logically and push him to his limit. Below, you can read about the best things to look out for in April. The rest of the month also has narrative adventures, Disney’s Need for Speed, and a League of Legends spin-off that mixes retro style with modern action.

Meet Your Maker – April 4

Want to do some wild feng shui? With Meet Your Maker, you can make the deathtrap of your dreams and let other players try it out to see how deadly your interior design skills are. You can also go outside your outpost and check out what other players have made before you get killed by flamethrowers, spikes, and robots that kill people. The “building and raiding” game will be one of the free games on PS Plus this month, so people with that service can try it out.

Curse of the Sea Rats – April 6

Curse of the Sea Rats is billed as a ratoidvania, and it is. It lets you explore a non-linear world and has the action-platforming gameplay and detailed hand-animated graphics you’d expect from the genre. As one of four British prisoners turned into rats by the famous pirate witch Flora Burn, it’s up to you to explore the Irish coast and try to get your human body back while dealing with dangerous bosses and other dangers set up by your enemy.

Everspace 2 – April 6

After two years of early access, Everspace 2 is ready to hit maximum warp as it approaches a full release on PC. Even though Xbox Series X|S and PS5 players still have a while to wait before they can play the space shooter with roguelike elements, PC players who are new to the sequel will be able to explore a beautiful galaxy full of danger, puzzles, and new worlds as they slowly improve their spaceship into a force to be reckoned with.

EA Sports PGA Tour – April 7

Even though summer is a few months away, EA Sports is making a big comeback to the PGA Tour this month so you can play golf from home. The Masters, PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open are all in EA Sports PGA Tour, which makes it a fun game for golf fans who want to see them all. You can make your golfer, improve your skills with new types of shots, and learn how to play the 30 real-life courses that have been recreated as accurately as possible.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened – April 11

This remake of a cult-classic Sherlock Holmes game was challenging because Russia invaded Frogwares’ home country of Ukraine, but the studio managed to finish the game. Most Sherlock Holmes stories are grounded, but The Awakened goes into Lovecraftian territory as Holmes deals with eldritch gods, monsters, and cults and starts questioning his sanity. In this remake, The Awakened, we learn how Sherlock’s mind was broken and how that made him the haunted genius he was always meant to be. Watson, Sherlock’s loyal friend, also gets a chance to shine.

Tron: Identity – April 11

April is a great month for fans of story-based games since not just one but two of these games set in well-known IPs are coming out. In Tron: Identity, which comes out this month, you can go back to the Grid and follow Query, a detective program that has to find out who broke into The Repository. You will have to make some hard choices in this visual novel as you question suspects and look around to find out the truth, which could have bad effects on the world of Tron.

Ghostwire: Tokyo – April 12

Have you ever wished you could go to Japan without leaving your house? Ghostwire: Tokyo will scratch that itch, and if you don’t mind murderous ghosts, this piece of Tokyo’s famous Shibuya district is a beautiful and spooky tour of a Japanese city. Ghostwire: Tokyo was first released on PS5 and PC last year. This month, it finally comes to Xbox Series X|S, bringing plenty of ghostly danger, fun, and a few ghostly mysteries to solve.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection – April 14

Mega Man Battle Network fans have been asking for a port for a long time, and this month, all 10 of the classic games are coming to PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC. The Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection games were first available on the Game Boy Advance. They are getting new online features, an optional high-resolution filter, and an art gallery with more than 1,000 pieces to look at. Card collectors also get 499 “Patch Cards,” Japan-only unique cards.

Disney Speedstorm – April 18

With Disney Speedstorm, the Mouse House aims for the world of competitive motorsports. More was needed to take over the cozy life simulation market with Disney Dreamlight Valley. In its early access release, Disney Speedstorm has Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Mulan, Hercules, and several other characters. It also has high-speed circuits where drivers can show off their skills as they race against each other.

Minecraft Legends – April 18

This is different from the Minecraft you usually play. Instead, Minecraft Legends takes Mojang’s blocky world into an action-strategy game where you explore different biomes populated by other players. When you and your allies are fighting Piglins, it’s essential to work together, but you’ll have plenty of resources, weapons, and partners to help you fight the dangerous creatures when they come to lay siege to your world.

The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story – April 18

League of Legends is a challenging game, but The Mageseeker might be the best way for new players to get started in that world. The Mageseeker is a spin-off that mixes classic brawling with beautiful pixel art. It tells the story of Sylas, who uses chains and the ability to steal magic to escape the oppressive Mageseekers and get his own back. Digital Sun, which made Moonlighter, has worked on The Mageseeker for over four years. It will be available on Switch, PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

Puzzle Quest 3 – April 18

Even though Puzzle Quest 3 has been out for PC since March, the fun match-three gameplay is finally coming to PlayStation and Xbox this month. This new adventure in the land of Etheria has everything you’d expect from a fantasy game, like epic loot and mythical dungeons. You’ll see all of these things in battles where you can use gems to make powerful attacks. Puzzle Quest 3 is more strategic than you might think, and planning is the key to winning.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores – April 19

Burning Shores is the next part of Aloy’s story. It comes more than a year after Horizon: Forbidden West. This time, Aloy is looking for a new and dangerous threat to the planet. She goes south of the Tenakth Clan Lands to a future version of Los Angeles that has been turned into a dangerous archipelago by violent volcanic eruptions and earthquakes over thousands of years. Bad news for PS4 owners of Horizon: Burning Shores will only be available on the PS5, so if you want to continue Aloy’s journey, you’ll have to buy the newer Sony console.

Coffee Talk: Episode 2 – April 20

If you want a more low-tech gaming experience in April, heat your coffee maker, pull up a chair, and get ready to listen to customers who wish to talk about their problems over a hot cup of caffeine. Episode 2 of Coffee Talk brings in a few new characters. As you listen to their stories, you’ll be able to improve your barista skills with unique latte-art masterpieces and secret recipes, all while making a cup of coffee that could change people’s lives.

Dead Island 2 – April 21

Dead Island 2 is finally coming back from the dead in April, more than a decade after the first game brought people to a Club Dead resort. This long-awaited sequel takes a more linear approach, adds procedurally generated flesh systems, and drops you into a bloody version of Los Angeles. You’ll be able to cut, smash, and burn your way through environments full of zombie hordes.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox – April 27

A twisted world of secret groups, forbidden rituals, and cold-blooded murders might be the wrong time for the average private eye. Still, it’s just another Tuesday for detective Benedict Fox when he has to solve a seemingly impossible mystery. Fox can look into the minds of the recently dead with the help of the demon he is bound to as he searches for clues in a world with Lovecraftian elements. With a gruesome murder to solve and people trying to stop him, The Last Case of Benedict Fox is likely to be a creepy and dark mystery.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor – April 28

In the first sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Cal Kestis is back and ready to fight against the Empire. He has grown a rough beard and is prepared to fight. It doesn’t look like Survivor will stray too far from the action-adventure formula it set in 2019. Still, with more lightsaber combat options, several quality-of-life updates, and plenty of battle droids to kill, Respawn’s sequel is shaping up to be a great adventure that’s not too far (far!) away.
